P3 Sculpture Walk & Math Trail at Changi Airport

The above picture shows a sculpture of an animal. Do you know what animal it is? For the P3 pupils who had gone for the Scuplture Walk, you would have got the answer, right? This scuplture is found just outside the UOB Building, next to the Singapore River. This sculpture is designed by Fernando Botero.

To find out the answer to the above question, you may click here.

Magnets

Benjamin who is trying to magnetise his iron nail using the stroke method.

Nicholas managed to magnetise his iron nail and used it to attract a paper clip.

Unlike poles attract...

Like poles repel...
In the teaching of Magnets, each kid received an experiment box that allowed them to conduct several experiments on Magnets so as to help them remember the characteristics of magnets.

Mooncake Making

Olivia and her first hand-made snowskin mooncake

Rachel who was trying to divide the lotus paste into 4 equal portions.

Shermern who had kindly prepared the dough for the kids.

The person (Auntie Jean) who made this mooncake making activity possible.

With 500 g of Snowskin premix flour, 100 g of shortening, 200 ml of water and a few drops of food colouring, the kids had a great time in making their snowskin mooncakes. Special thanks must be given to Shermern's mummy who was willing to share her experience with the kids and other mummies who came to help out.
Dear Parents,
Have you tried the mooncake made by your child?
Regards,
Amanda

A Snatch Thief

There was a commotion. The frantic lady was gesticulating wildly, screaming at the top of her voice. The snatch thief was making away with the stolen handbag. Who would be there to help the lady? What would happen to the snatch thief?

Snow City Singapore

We would like to thank our parent volunteers, Victoria (left) and Valerie (right), for not just accompanying our P3J pupils to Snow City but they had gone the extra mile to keep them warm each time the pupils ran out shivering in cold after a short snow play.

Click here to view some exciting pictures on the ice cream making activity and other fun experiments using liquid nitrogen.

Food Poisoning

He broke out in a cold sweat. Shivering like a leaf, he held his abdomen tightly as there was a very bad cramp. He began to feel nauseous. With weak limbs, he staggered to the toilet and he started vomiting.

These are symptoms of food poisoning. What could have caused it? Who was there to help him? How did the story end?

Hosting kids from Brunei

A gift that is made by one of the Brunei kids

Shi Kai, Izaac and Joel and their buddies...

Rachel Chua, Rebecca and their buddies...

Jenna, Shane Qi and their buddies...

Isaac, Daniel and their buddies...
Our Collage kids were given the rare opportunity to host some kids from Brunei for a week. Our kids arrived early every morning to wait for the arrival of their buddies. They then made sure that their buddies were well taken care of during their immersion programme in Nanyang. Our Collage kids could not bear to part when it was the Brunei kids' last day in school. Well done, kids for making your buddies' stay in Singapore a memorable one.

We punch...

We kick...

We punch too...

Getting ready to punch...
The kids have Wushu lessons every Thursday as a part of the school's programme to immerse them in Chinese Culture. They enjoyed that hour of Wushu tremendously as it is different from the normal PE lessons that they had.

Bar Graph

We read a story 'Lemonade for Sale' to start on the topic Bar Graph. "Tally O'Malley" is used to introduce tally marks for the kids which they will be using in their survey. The kids ended this topic by conducting a survey and then constructing the bar graph with the data collected.
