P3 Sculpture Walk & Math Trail at Changi Airport

The above picture shows a sculpture of an animal. Do you know what animal it is? For the P3 pupils who had gone for the Scuplture Walk, you would have got the answer, right? This scuplture is found just outside the UOB Building, next to the Singapore River. This sculpture is designed by Fernando Botero.

To find out the answer to the above question, you may click here.

Snow City Singapore

We would like to thank our parent volunteers, Victoria (left) and Valerie (right), for not just accompanying our P3J pupils to Snow City but they had gone the extra mile to keep them warm each time the pupils ran out shivering in cold after a short snow play.

Visit to Lucasfilm

Our little animators...

We can draw...

Presentation of corporate gift by Mrs Lee

Kids were looking intently at the film cut out.

The kids had the opportunity to visit Lucasfilm on 24 May 2010. Special thanks to Alessandra's and Kyle's father who took the trouble to make this trip possible. The kids listened to an introduction to animation by Tad, the curriculum manager. Tad shared how he adores Starwars since he was young and the journey he underwent to become who he is today. The kids received a short film cut out and learnt that there were 24 frames in 1 second of movie. Several animators also taught the kids how to draw the characters from Starwars. Some kids had the chance to do some simple animation using the models from Starwars. The kids had thoroughly enjoyed themselves that day.

Bird Park Trip

Who can spot a huge bird in the tree above?
Pupils from P3J & P3K went to the Jurong Bird Park on Tue 25 May 2010. Pupils were divided into three groups of about 20 pupils on their guided tour. The pupils in my group spotted the huge bird high up on the tree and they were thrilled. It was a really big bird. Have you spotted it?
The children were led to the Avian Clinic. They saw where the sick birds would be treated and housed. They also learnt how to tell a sick bird from a healthy bird by looking at the faeces. The pupils were extremely excited when they were given the opportunities to feed the parrot and pelicans.

It is our great honour to be part of this exciting project launched by NParks titled 'The Man Who Planted Trees'. Our Collage pupils had a meaningful and memorable moment this morning at the Singapore Botanic Gardens (Botany Centre) planting seedlings onto the structure of a five-metre-tall man. This topiary work is a central figure and will be displayed at the festival at Suntec Singapore.

Sentosa Trip

When we set foot in Sentosa; and walking towards the beach, the sky was overcast. I wished that it would remain that way throughout the outdoor activities but as you would have guessed, a golden glow soon spread across the sky. The scorching sun shone mercilessly down on us. Despite the heat, many pupils participated in the treasure hunt and sandcastle competition with much excitement and joy.

Forest Adventure

The pupils had the opportunity to start their Collage year at Forest Adventure where they had to complete an aerial course built through trees comprising of bridges, swings, trapezes and zip lines. It was heartening to see the pupils cheering one another on so that all of them could complete the course . The Collage teachers, Mdm Chew, Mdm Lim, Mr Mohd and Ms Mak, felt so proud of the pupils who must overcome their fear of heights to complete the course. Well done, Collage kids! =)
